ATTRACTIONS AROUND LAKE CONSTANCE

Regardless of the season, there is always a lot to do in a place where three countries meet.

But what would Lake Constance be without boats? 36 of these boats form the so-called “Weiße Flotte”. Starting in Immenstaad, you can chooe almost any destination around the lake.
Each year many visitors are drawn to the Isle of Mainau- the isle of flowers and everchanging blooms. The moth and butterfly house gives you an insight into the world of the tropics. Here you get a “live” experience of over 1,000 bright and beautiful butterflies.
Other places that are worth being visited are Friedrichshafen with its famous Zeppelin Museum, Lindau with its magnificent harbour, Meersburg with its abundance of historical buildings and Tettnang with its original hop-growing Museum.
And, there are also to mention the towns of Konstanz, Uhldingen, Stein am Rhein and St. Gallen as well as Bregenz with its famous open-air theatre production. Those interested in ornate, ancient architecture will not want to miss the pilgrimage church in Birnau and the 3 old churches on the Isle of Reichenau. The Rhinefall in Schaffhausen is also a sight to behold. And then, there are the mounts Pfänder and Säntis which offer unique panoramic views of Lake Constance.
One particularly fascinating experience is a trip on board the old paddle steamer Hohentwiel.
Those who prefer a little peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle will love the other face of Lake Constance. Deggenhausertal has rolling
fields and fruit meadows that are ideal for country walking. We can also recommend a visit to the castle in Salem to see its many museums.
